Sample side view icon trailer with 2 axles and fender for measuring dimensions of online items.

Learn what trailer dimensions must be supplied for the correct production of a custom tarpaulin.

A dimensional survey with us is always free if you are not sure if you can provide the correct measurements.

Step 1: Supply trailer dimensions

Size 1: Outer dimension length bin

The extreme outer dimensions in the length of the container over which the tarp is stretched.

Noted: the sail has a height (or overlap) of standard 16 cm. Consider this when measuring.

Size 2: Outer width bin

The extreme outer dimensions in the width of the container over which the tarp is stretched.

Noted: the sail has a height (or overlap) of standard 16 cm. Consider this when measuring.

If bracket locks or turnbuckles are provided, these must also be measured. This will be compensated by us afterwards.

Size 3: Distance of rear body to fender

The distance from the rear side of the bucket, to the densest end at the rear of the fender.

Size 4: Distance front body to fender

The distance from the front side of the bucket, to the densest end at the front of the fender.

Size 5: Length and width tube profile ladder rack

Size 5 is required if you want the ladder rack to be able to remain in place when a tarpaulin is mounted. This is our nominal approach.

Size 5a: longitudinal profile width

Size 5b: profile width in the width direction

If desired, we can provide a tarpaulin without a cutout for ladder rack so that it spans the entire body.

Size 6: Inside size of ladder rack

Distance on the inside of the 2 profiles of the ladder rack.

Size 7: Distance to the 2 wheels

Not applicable for single axle - Only applicable for double axle or tridem trailer.

Measure 7a: Distance to the most central side of the rear wheel.

Size 7b: Width between the 2 extreme points of the wheels.

Step 2: Choose the desired color

Choose the color you want for the custom tarpaulin. There is no price difference.

Noted:

  • Color black (RAL 9005) is more subject to solar radiation, which may cause the tarpaulin to age faster than other colors.
  • Color silver (RAL 9006) is more sensitive to creases, this means that when the flat sheet is folded, these creases may remain more visible than other colors.

Step 3: Assemble the bache

Once you have received the tarpaulin from us by mail, please use our quick assembly guide.
